Dark Descending

At the riverbank, the cold stone beneath her feet grounded L'ac. Beside her, Rosie waited, calm and commanding, with the dragon-like stone creature standing silently by her side. "Come, Lady of Shadows," Rosie said softly."Your place awaits you, but the path must first be walked."

The stone creature lowered its head, offering her a place on its broad back. With a deep breath, L'ac climbed on top of the creature, her hands gripping its cold and rough scales. Rosie followed, wrapping her arms tightly around L'ac's waist as they began to glide across the water’s surface. The eerie blue light around them gradually deepened to crimson, casting dark, flickering shadows across the cavern walls.

They soon reached an ancient stone platform in the center of the vast underground sea. The air grew colder, heavier, as if the very atmosphere was laden with anticipation. The shadows shifted and parted ahead of them, revealing a wide, straight path carved from the stone floor, leading into the heart of the cavern. "This is your path," Rosie said, her black wing unfurling slightly as she gestured forward. "At the end lies your throne, the seat of your power. Claim what is yours."

L'ac dismounted from the stone creature, her feet meeting the frigid stone path. The air around her seemed to pulse with life, the shadows reaching out, sinking into her skin, merging with her own darkness. Each step felt heavier than the last, but with every pace forward, L'ac could feel her power growing—darker, stronger. The shadow within her swelled, feeding on the darkness around her, growing more potent with each step.

At the end of the path stood her throne, towering and ancient. Its surface jagged and rough. The shadows clung to it like living tendrils, wrapping around its edges and beckoning her closer, urging her to embrace her destiny. The pull of the throne was undeniable, calling to her like a long-lost part of herself.

L'ac stood before the throne, her heart pounding in her chest, the weight of the shadows almost suffocating. She reached out, brushing her fingers against the cold stone, feeling the immense power within it. Slowly, she lowered herself onto the throne, and the moment she did, a surge of dark energy flooded her body, overwhelming her senses. The shadows filled her mind, pushing aside the last remnants of Aika's memory, replacing them with darker, more twisted thoughts. She closed her eyes, a calm settling over her as the shadows whispered their approval and her newfound power surged within her. Suddenly, a black wing erupted from her back, mirroring Rosie's own. The transformation was complete.

L'ac fully transformed

L'ac was no longer the protector—she had become the Lady of Shadows, ruler of this dark realm.
