A Witness
While L'ac honed her newfound powers, Aika, her trusted comrade and friend, was drawn by the sounds of combat—loud clashes and explosive impacts. Hesitant to interrupt, Aika observed from behind a pillar, her concern deepening as she watched the shadows dance at L'ac's command, seemingly alive with malevolent glee.
A shiver of dread traced Aika's spine; the friend she had trained and laughed with was embracing a dark and sinister force. Watching L'ac demolish another dummy with chilling precision, Aika felt a surge of resolve; she could not stay silent.

After the demonstration, Aika approached L'ac, her expression a mixture of concern and caution. As she drew nearer, the shadow reappeared behind L'ac, unseen by Aika. "L'ac, what's happened to you? This power... it's unlike anything I've seen. It frightens me."
L'ac, still buzzing with the thrill of her newfound abilities, brushed off her concerns with a laugh. "It’s a new skill, Aika. Nothing to worry about. I'm in control."

Aika frowned, not convinced. "But at what cost? You're changing, losing yourself to this power. Doesn't that worry you?" L'ac's smile waned, her eyes darkening."Why should it? I've never felt stronger, more capable. Isn’t that what we always wanted?" Her voice grew sharper, edged with irritation. Aika took a step back, hurt by L'ac’s tone.
L'ac’s smile returned "Maybe you’re just afraid of a little change, Aika." Aika sighed, realizing her words were not reaching her friend as she had hoped. "I hope you're right, L'ac. I really do. Just... be careful, please." With that, she turned to leave, her resolve to keep a close eye on L'ac strengthening with each step she took away from her.
